"Land of the Lost" Movie Review

With Pixar's Up practically guaranteed to hold on to the number one spot for a second week in a row, Will Ferrell's family-friendly Land of the Lost will battle the raunchy comedy Toward the end of the comedy remake of Sid and Marty Krofft's '70s lunchbox leftover, "Land of the Lost," Will Ferrell is eaten by a T. rex and then excreted out the creature's back end. Fans know to interpret this as a personal artistic statement from the actor. It's a metaphor for most of his movies now, and what happens to audiences who go in hoping for another "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" and come out smelling of "Step Brothers" and "Semi-Pro." "American Idol" champion Kris Allen to sing at NBA finals

"Idol" winner Kris Allen will sing the U.S. national anthem on Sunday before the second game of the NBA finals, pairing the winner of TV's top-rated talent show with U.S. professional basketball's biggest series. "Idol" winner Kris Allen will be singing the U.S. National anthem before the second game of the NBA finals on Sunday. Reuters wrote this wasn't the first time the NBA had idols sing for them. In the past, they worked with Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. It has now become a NBA tradition for "Idol" singers to perform before the game. 23-year-old Allen, a student from Arkansas, won the 2009 season of the popular singing contest, defeating presumed front-runner Adam Lambert who was known for his outlandish style. Allen will serenade basketball fans at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, when the Los Angeles Lakers play the Orlando Magic. The Lakers routed the Magic in the first game Thursday night, winning 100-75. Allen'

Whitney Houston to release comeback album very soon.

Whitney Houston's comeback has come one step closer to becoming a reality, with the announcement of a Sept. 1 release date for her next album. It's been more than six years since Whitney Houston debuted an album-- a lifetime, really, for the brilliant vocalist who has since starred in a train-wreck reality show with her now ex-husband Bobby Brown, and has battled rumors of drug addiction. Rolling Stone has reported that her new venture, which Arista Records still has not titled, will be released on Sept. 1 and will feature collaborations with artists such as R.Kelly, Diane Warren, David Foster, Swiss Beatz and Akon. I, for one, hope the wait is worth it. Houston is still revered for the soaring heights she took her voice with classics such as The Greatest Love of All, Saving All My Love and How Will I Know. Can't you just hear Simon Cowell's oft-used quote: "That was No Whitney Houston"? It would be a shame for her legacy to end with Being Bobby Brown. What do
