Christina Aguilera to make movie debut in 'Burlesque'

Image
Christina Aguilera is heading to the big screen! Pop star Christina Aguilera will make her feature film debut in the musical "Burlesque." Gossipers question the career move, citing other singers who have failed in their big-screen efforts. Aguilera has won four Grammy Awards, a Latin Grammy and has sold more than 25 million albums. Although she has never starred in a film, she lent her voice to the 2004 animated flick, Shark Tale and performed the title song in 2001's Moulin Rouge with Pink, Lil' Kim and Maya. The film, which has many links to Bob Fosse's Cabaret, will begin filming late this year. The film is scheduled to begin shooting late this year. Let's just hope the studio behind the project, Screen Gems, has better luck with this movie than their current film driven by a big name pop goddess. That movie, the thriller "Obsessed," starring Beyonce Knowles, managed to eke out surprise box office success in spite of being universally panned.

LINDSAY LOHAN CAUGHT DRINKING ON TAPE

Image
Friends of Lindsay Lohan have claimed that she is still drinking despite her spell in rehab. The actress recently checked out of the Cirque Lodge rehab centre, but allegedly succumbed to the temptation of alcohol at a Thanksgiving dinner last week. Lindsay took her 15 year-old sister Ali to Nylon's Young Hollywood party at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on Monday but refused to let photographers at the event take photos of her and her sis sitting together. Before she whisked her sister away to Hawaii for a little family vacation, Lindsay was also spotted partying with Ali at Hollywood hotspot MyHouse. Only problem is the nightclub is strictly 21 and older. "The club promoter asked Ali to leave twice before she was finally escorted out," a partygoer tells Hollyscoop. Lindsay isn't exactly being the best role model for Ali, but than again, the alternative is Dina Lohan, who really isn't any better.
