'Kill Bill' star Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok.
Much like the character that made him famous, David Carradine best known as the wandering Shaolin monk in the 1970s television series "Kung Fu" and the mysterious assassin in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" movies, was found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel room Thursday. The cause appeared to be suicide.
Thai police said That the Carradine was found dead Thursday in Thailand. The 72-year-old actor appeared to have hanged himself in a suite at the luxury Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel, said Lt. Teerapop Luanseng, the officer responsible for investigating the death.
"I can confirm that we found his body, naked, hanging in the closet," a Thai police officer investigating the death told The Associated Press.
David Carradine, 72, was staying in Room 352 of the Park Nai Lert Hotel in the Thai capital while shooting a movie titled "Stretch," according to The Nation. Carradine failed to appear with the rest of the crew for a meal Wednesday and could not be contacted. A maid said she discovered his body around 10 a.m.
David Carradine had a curtain rope around his neck, The Nation reported, adding that police found no evidence he had been assaulted. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
David Carradine was born in Hollywood, California, the son of Ardanelle Abigail and noted American actor John Carradine. He was the brother of Bruce Carradine and half-brother of Keith and Robert Carradine, as well as the uncle of Ever Carradine and Martha Plimpton. Carradine had Irish, English, Scottish, Welsh, German, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian and Cherokee ancestry. Carradine attended Oakland Junior College and later studied drama at San Francisco State College before working as an actor on stage and in television and cinema. He changed his given name to David after starting his career.

On December 26, 2004, he married Annie at the seaside Malibu home of his friend, Michael Madsen. The ceremony was performed by his attorney and his wife's longtime friend, Vicki Roberts.
