Michael Jackson Delays London Concerts.

Jackson fans won't be thrilled or necessarily surprised by this news.

Michael Jackson has pushed back his London concert dates by five days, The show's director, Kenny Ortega, and exec producer, Randy Phillips, blamed the delay from July 8 to July 13. on the spectacle's technical complexities, not Jackson's health or preparedness. Three makeup performances of the show, called "This Is It," will be scheduled for next March.

Concert promoters AEG Live said the delay was necessary because the singer needed more time for dress rehearsals. The first show, on 8 July, has been pushed back by five nights. Three other July dates will not take place until March 2010.

The delays immediately stoked speculation that Jackson's health is poor, but promoters said the issue was a production snag.

Some 750,000 tickets to the "This Is It" tour sold out within hours in March, AEG said.
Die-hard fans made plans to travel from overseas, and promoters said Wednesday that anyone who can't attend the rescheduled shows will be entitled to a full refund.

The affected dates are as follows:

  • 8 July - moved to 13 July, 2009
  • 10 July - moved to 1 March, 2010
  • 12 July - moved to 3 March, 2010
  • 14 July - moved to 6 March, 2010
