Danica Patrick turning To Win.

Danica Patrick, who is one of the most recognized figures in sports, has won only one IndyCar Series race. She will be competing this weekend in the Indianapolis 500 for the fifth time.
Danica Patrick starts in the 10th spot in Sunday's Indianapolis 500. She won't know whether fans will tune in to see her try to become the first female Indy 500 winner, or because they caught a glimpse of her strapped to the hood of a silver Ford Cobra in this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.

Cynics say Danica Patrick is the Tiger Woods of open-wheel racing - without the victories.
It's not her fault she topped Woods and New England Patriots stud Tom Brady as the most-searched-for online athlete of 2008, according to an AOL study. She happens to look better in a bikini, as she demonstrated in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Beyond the ogling, though, the 5-foot-2, 100-pound driver from Roscoe, Ill., is an accomplished and talented open-wheel competitor. She proved that on April 20, 2008, when she won an Indy Racing League event in Motegi, Japan, becoming the first woman to capture a major oval race.

Patrick became the first woman to win a major U.S.-sanctioned open-wheel series race a year ago at Motegi, Japan, when a late-race fuel-mileage gamble paid off.

Otherwise, Patrick has only three top-three finishes -- all in 2007 -- in her other 66 career starts. She finished 22nd in last year's Indy 500 after colliding with Briscoe coming out of the pits.

Patrick was 23rd fastest in the final practice Friday.
