Christina Aguilera to make movie debut in 'Burlesque'

Christina Aguilera is heading to the big screen!

Pop star Christina Aguilera will make her feature film debut in the musical "Burlesque." Gossipers question the career move, citing other singers who have failed in their big-screen
efforts.
Aguilera has won four Grammy Awards, a Latin Grammy and has sold more than 25 million albums. Although she has never starred in a film, she lent her voice to the 2004 animated flick, Shark Tale and performed the title song in 2001's Moulin Rouge with Pink, Lil' Kim and Maya.
The film, which has many links to Bob Fosse's Cabaret, will begin filming late this year.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting late this year.
Let's just hope the studio behind the project, Screen Gems, has better luck with this movie than their current film driven by a big name pop goddess.
That movie, the thriller "Obsessed," starring Beyonce Knowles, managed to eke out surprise box office success in spite of being universally panned.
